Every day in our life has a story and we, Vika and Marta, like to create these stories.  We both live in Belarus and study at  the Lyceum №1 in Minsk.

We are two creative young girls so every our day differs from the previous one. It was difficult for us to choose something special but we decided to write how Belarusian teenagers spend their weekends.

There are some abondened buildings in our city and creative teenagers prefer spending their free time there. But what attracts them in it?

To clear it up, we visited two of them.

First we went to the sport ground, which wasn’t completely built a few years ago. Now it has turned into a place for drawing graffiti, playing pinball and making photoshoots for children and teenagers.  This place impresses everyone who visits it.There are a lot of graffiti on the walls, which show us what modern teenagers are interested in and what they are worried about. When you walk there you can see that Belarusian teenagers are interested in foreign music, like Sex Pistols, especially Sid Vicious.  The building’s walls are used as the place for photoshoots. We took some photos too! Also we saw some children playing there. They swarmed up staircases and play such extreme games like “Stalker”. Atmosphere in this building makes you feel as if you are a hero of a computer game.

After taking photos, we went to the abondened children hospital. This place has a very rich history. It was a hospital in 1975. But in 2003 the hospital was closed because of  the fire. According to the words of the government, the hospital was closed because of the lack of space for medical stuff and patients. But why does everything inside the hospital indicate that there was an urgent evacuation? Why is old building still located in the centre of Minsk? Inside the hospital, you can see pills, children books, a timetable and a bathchair. Some students visit it and guide others around the place. But this place is really dangerous. Some exits are buried and tramps live there. In 2008 in the auditorium there was a huge fire. Despite all of these warnings, the place is visited by teenagers. They draw graffiti outside the hospital. Maybe, they want to show their opinions about different global problems like religion, wars and starvation.

To sum up, we can say that these buildings have a special energy that attracts more and more people.
